From Pastor Terry Holmes: I am currently serving as pastor at Victory Villa Community Church in Baltimore MD. This is my sixth year in the Lord's work here and my twenty first year as a Pastor. In the fall of 1980 my family and I came to Manahath School of Theology in Hollidaysburg Pa. While at Manahath four years, through the encouragement of those whom I crossed paths with, the Lord directed my path to pursue the ministry. The sound Biblical preaching and teaching gave me the tools needed to do the Lord's work. I thank God for Dr. Cooke and others who played a part in my continuing ministry. From Miss Alana Anderson: Hello. I am currently a freshman at Breckbill, and am enjoying the classes and student fellowship very much. It is encouraging to have a college with a family-oriented major close to home, especially since I commute with my brother. I am looking forward to completing all 4 years of the Family and Women's Ministries major, Lord willing. My favorite class so far is cooking, though I like all my classes so far. From Cheryl (Cook) Moore: I remember laundry soap bubbles rising out of the washing machine in the basement of the Mansion @ 1111 N. Juniata St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648...who else connects with those days? Dr. Breckbill would take his big ole hand and wipe down over his face as he began our US History course; he told us stories that only someone who had been there could've known...how old WAS this wonderful man? Bobbie (Mallonee) Kragl and I met @ Panera Bread/Bel Air,MD the other evening...chat & chew time...we have remained bosom buddies - stood for each other's wedding - grew up our kids together - faithfully serving the LORD Who started it all! See the book of Ruth chapter 2 verse 12 (smile) From Mr. Donald Clark: I am currently a fill-in minister for Grace Fellowship Church of Clarion, PA (this is in addition to my full time job). It is a small church (around 20 people total) that has seen some ups and downs the last few years. The school (I was graduated from Manahath) was a great resource for me as I studied to prepare for the ministry. Dr. Cooke's ministry, as teacher, pastor, and fellow believer still have an influence on me today. I thank God He has enabled men to proclaim the Word both in word and in deed. From Dr. Edward Mallonee: I finally learned of your website. Tried to locate you a couple of times when we were down in that part of the country. I guess we went the wrong way. We rode all around Graham Forge, etc. We often stop at Ft Chiswell exit for gas. Our oldest daughter is in Greeneville, TN. Bev and I are working here in PA. I pastor Faith Baptist Church, Beaver Springs, PA and -serve as General Manager of our radio station, WFBM 100.1 FM. -Have had the privilege of being in the volunteer chaplain program for the PA state senate. -chair our county's children and youth advisory board. In the past served several years with Accelerated Christian Education, during that time helped to establish over 40 Christian Schools. Was prof at Ohio Christian College back in the '80's. (Bible Dept.) Bev is Office Manager and Administrative manager of the Susquehanna Valley Pregnancy Care Centers (with 3 locations: Williamsport, Lewisburg, and Shamokin). Now that we have that little map on the website, perhaps we can look you up when we get down that way. From Danielle Reider: I attended Breckbill Bible College for two years. I went on to get a degree in elementary education at another school, and I now teach 3rd grade in a Christian School. Looking back, I can see how important it was for me to be at Breckbill for those two years. It was there that I was able to study God's Word and learn sound biblical doctrine that has greatly influenced my world view. It is my prayer that God will use me to impact the lives of my students as I teach them more about Him. From Betty Kelly: I am currently a teacher at Eastside Baptist Academy in Jonesboro, AR, a ministry of our local church. This is my 13th year. Darryl and I have been married for thirty- eight years and have 3 children; Darryl II (33), lives in Dayton, Ohio, with his wife Becky and two children, Trey and Kate. Shawna (25) lives in Memphis, TN, and Jim (22) lives in Jonesboro, AR about 11 miles away. All three love the Lord and are serving in their local churches. Since graduating from Manahath in 1967, I taught at Hartford Christian School in Dublin,MD, Brookland Elementary School in Brookland AR, 4 years at Manahath in Hollidaysburg, then did some substituting while we lived in San Angelo,TX while Darryl was pastoring there. Since moving back to Arkansas in 1980, I was able to stay home and raise our children, and sell Tupperware as a sideline. The Lord has blessed our lives together and we continue to serve Him. I just found this website today and was so glad to see some information on some people we attended Manahath with and some that we taught. I hope others will go on line and let us hear from you. I sure do miss Dr. Breckbill and his "How's your smiling animosity?" |
